Well, I haven't said anything about it but my bf has a new job now~ He was close to getting stuck with graveyard shift but luckily he gets to have first shift..... Only problem is he's going to be working 6-7 days a week :( So let the happy place commence!
~Children listen carefully. You must never go up the Red Mountain. There's an evil monster that lives on top of the mountain. No spider that has trekked up the Red Mountain has ever returned the same........ or doesn't return at all.~
The tale of the spider that climbed the Red Mountain.....
It was a dark Thursday night when Mike found his way into a warm room sheltered from the treachery of the outside world. This place seemed to be a wonderful ideal home to settle down in and he could protect his wife Carol and their two children from the harshness of the nature outside. There were many solitary corners to live in and an abundance of food in the form of chip crumbs on the ground. Indeed it seemed the perfect home..... But there's one little problem.... This place was already occupied by a very large monster that sat aloft on a red mountain.
Not a very tall mountain mind you, but for a spider of Mike's stature it was big enough to be considered so. The mountain seemed very flat on the top and the creature that lived there seemed to be very comfortable on it. Mike was puzzled by the behavior of this creature and observed it for a moment. It would often raise it's long limbs and make pitterpatter sounds on a bright box it kept in front of it. Every so often the lights on the bright box would change and movement seemed to happen in the form of bright colors and strange sounds that would often make the large creature make very loud noises, but it seemed to be happy and pleased with the oddity of the bright box.
Mike jumped back startled as the creature rose from the mountain. He was astounded by the size of it. Mike wasn't a very large spider but he figured it that if enough spiders his size stood on one another's shoulders, then the creature must equal 1,000 spiders high. He began to fear this creature as it started to move, but in his favor, the creature left the room. He was relieved to see it go and began to reassure his family that everything was ok. But before he could calm them back down the creature came back and perched itself on the mountain again. It settled itself down under the top layer of the mountain and continued it's pitterpatter on the box.
This is when Mike realized... This creature must be the owner of this room. It would be very ill mannered to move into it's domain without asking it's permission first. He took a deep breath and told his family to wait there for him, as he took those first steps forward onto the Red Mountain. To his surprise, it was like no other mountain he had ever seen. Such a soft and warm texture, and such a vibrant color too. He could understand why the large creature was so happy atop of it. Since Mike was such a small spider, he had a small voice and he decided he should get as close as he could so the creature could hear out his request. With all of his courage that he could muster, he crawled upon the top of the mountain and came close to nearly 100 of his leg lengths from the creatures face. He met the gaze of the creature and as soon as he was ready to speak, the large creature, without warning, squealed in terror, violently shook the mountain, spilled it's box over, and catapulted Mike into the air.
Once he landed, Mike scurried away as fast as he could, running to save his life. Once he had found a safe corner, he turned back to look if the monster was chasing him. The monster was flinging the top layers of the mountain around and moving floppy boulders presumably looking for him. After a while had passed and the creature still did not find him, it sat back down and began to sulk over it's newly broken claw. It brooded for a while then went back to tend to it's bright box and made more pitterpatters.
Mike was horrified for he was now on the opposite side of the room. He didn't imagine that everything would go so wrong and now he's much too far away to protect his family. He would have to make his way back to them.... but he must now wait until the creature leaves. Unfortunately, it was night and the creature was accustomed to sleeping for long periods of time. He must wait until it leaves.
It was beginning to near midday when the creature finally left. Mike was relieved and made his way back to his family who were waiting for him. Carol begged him to leave this awful place, but Mike knew how long of a trek it would be to another room like this. He didn't want to put them through that kind of a journey. He decided that they would hide in the furthest corner from the Red Mountain and observe the creature just a little longer. He felt bad for upsetting it. He must make amends for it.
The day went by and the creature returned. Mike was ready to apologize but the creature seemed incredibly occupied with another bright box. He decided to let it enjoy itself. Another day went by, and the same thing happened. It was so pleased with it's box. He let the creature be again. He didn't want to ruin it's happiness. The next day, it slept for a very long time and the chance to make amends was missed. The day after, another large creature accompanied the one that owned the room, and Mike dare not take on two of them.
Carol began to grow impatient and wanted to leave as soon as possible. Mike told her it would be ok and that the journey to another haven would be to dangerous for all of them. The creature seemed calm today pitterpattering as usual. This seemed like a good chance to make amends. As Carol tried to stop him, Mike took off towards the Red Mountain, readied in to give the creature a hug...

"Excuse me, miss? I-I just wanted to say how sorry I was about the other night. I guess I came off a little too scary for my own good. It's just that you seemed like such a nice lady and all. So cheery, and when I watched you watch all those cartoons, I just figured you were an okay person. Anyway, what I wanted to say that other night before we both just about got heart attacks, is that me and my family are looking for a nice warm place to stay. The kids get so scared of the outside world. And the Mrs, you really should meet her. You'd like the cut of her ji-------------------*SPLAT* *SPLAT* *SPLAT* *SPLAT* *griiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiind* *smush* *set on fire* (/Danger Theme)
Meanwhile, the two children watch from outside the window with the Mrs. After that horrifying night watching their father get butchered, the children decided they couldn't live in this world anymore and walked themselves into the neighbor's bug light.
The mother tried so hard to stop them and convince them they'll get a new daddy and that things will be alright. But she failed. The heart of the broken was much
stronger than the light of hope. The mother, Carol, had endured the death of her husband, two children and 1 and a half legs singed in the attempt of saving her children from the blue light.
To this day, Carol continues to find shelter where she is not scorned by other fully 8-legged companions. Whenever she can, when she's not being picked on, she finds a nice little dark corner to hide in and cry herself to sleep. She only makes nets when she's hungry then moves on before someone comes along to pick on her malformed legs.
She was last seen in the park, hiding in the crevices of the jungle-gym. Most suspect she hung herself, others say she waited on the ladders, waiting for an eager child to climb, and when the moment was right, she'd dash for the under side of the shoe.
But I like to believe, that she regained herself and left in the middle of the night to a new town where she'd go on living as a therapist, helping others that have endured similar pains. But not just for spiders-alike, all bugs, and insects too.
I like to believe...
